Pastor Anthony E. Cozart Sr.
"In Search of the ONE." Luke 15
"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray and gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost?"
Welcome to Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church
The Pastor along with the Gethsemane family invites you to our church to share with us in the worship of God, where it is our earnest desire to fulfill Jesus’ mandate for worship: “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (Jn. 4.24 NRSV). Gethsemane’s worship and service of God are established in his Word and propelled by his Spirit. We are always pleased to welcome visitors who are seeking an encounter with God and thereby have their lives transformed.
It is our hope that should you worship with us that your soul will exclaim with the patriarch Jacob,
“. . . Surely the Lord is in this place. . . .” (Gen. 28.16) If you are seeking a relationship with God in Jesus and a church home, then consider joining in our effort to build the kingdom of God and carry out Jesus’ mission for his church: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19.10).
You may join us in our worship services that occur each Sunday at 11:00 A.M., Sunday school each Sunday at 9:30 A.M., or at our weekly midweek Bible Study at 7:00 P.M. We hope to see you at one of our services soon so that you may participate in Gethsemane’s spiritual mantra:
“In search of the ONE” (Luke 15).
It is the mission of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church to proclaim the uncompromising and unfettered Word of God with verity, clarity, passion, relevance, and a sound interpretation to save a world that is dying in its present misery and eternal damnation of sin. Therefore it is our purpose to offer the Gospel of Jesus Christ to seekers of the truth in a personal manner so that sinners will repent, believe the Gospel, and know that their only salvation is faith in Jesus. Moreover we strive for the maturation of believers to nurture, strengthen, and inspire them in their Christian faith. Based upon the mission that Jesus left for his church to be engaged in the ministry of saving souls (e.g., Mt. 1.21; Lk. 19.10), Gethsemane is empowered to be,
“In Search of the ONE (Lk. 15).”
